Interview and observation summary of a noteworthy social science teacher

The following paper is an interview and observation summary of a noteworthy social science teacher at Springholly High School located in Southern, California. The observation involved a close examination of the classroom structure including student demographics and classroom setting, the environment such as the general ambience and student behavior, and overall teaching methodologies. The interview concentrated on discovering the formulation and implementation of the teacher's lesson plan. The paper will end with my final thoughts and opinions about the teacher and the classroom. The teacher I observed was a high school teacher, Danny Watterson, II. Danny Watterson II Danny Watterson II has taught World History for about eight years and is currently teaching at Springholly High School. In addition, he also coaches the girl's soccer team in which I unfortunately did not get to question him about that. However, I did get to ask a couple of questions about him and his class. Mr. Watterson has indicated that during his earlier teaching years, he taught at a private school in which the administration put him wherever they needed a teacher. As a result, he was teaching a wide range of subjects including algebra for a few years and he indicated his general like for the subject matter. I got the impression that perhaps he might not mind teaching math in the near future. Despite his affinity for algebra, Mr. Watterson has been teaching history for a majority of his teaching career. An interesting fact about Mr. Watterson is that his father Danny Watterson, Senior also teaches at Springholly High.
